Since the time when the centre's exhibition area for Modernista work was opened on the first floor in 2000, with the exhibition entitled "Factories and Dreams", one of the priorities of Terrassa's Textile Documentation Centre and Museum (CDMT) has been research into Catalan textiles at the turn of the 20th century. The aforementioned exhibition was followed by others, all of which were accompanied by corresponding catalogues including the pieces on display and articles by specialist authors.
Currently, the CDMT is fully dedicated to recovering Modernista textile pieces, such as materials, clothing and accessories, household decoration, original designs, posters or samples. Its collection includes over 300 pieces, almost 2,000 original drawings and various samples from different companies. Highlights include pieces designed by Gaspar Homar, Joan Busquets and Aleix Clapés; clothing by elite designers such as Mme. Renaud or Maria Molist; materials and samples from companies such as Sert, Casaramona, Ignasi Balcells, Felipe Iglesis, Fills de Malvehy, Mitjans i Paré; designs and posters by Camil Cots, Garcia and Ferraté, amongst others, and a collection of over 1,400 unpublished designs for materials by Josep Palau i Oller.
