He qualified as an architect in Barcelona in 1889 and a year later he was working on the restoration of the church of Sant Ramon (1890; Carretera de Morell, Reus) and as a locum for the municipal architect of Reus.
Around 1890 he worked with the architect L. Domènech i Montaner on the blocks of the Pere Mata Psychiatric Institute (1898-1922; Passeig Briansó, s/n, Reus) and in 1891 he became municipal architect of Reus. In this period, together with F.J. Borràs, he made the Municipal Abattoir (1890-1892; Carrer de l'Escorxador, 1; now the Reus Municipal Library), which displays an incipient Modernisme.
As municipal architect of Reus he used the Modernista language on a number of public buildings, such as the Prat de la Riba Schools (1910-1917; Prat de la Riba, 36) and the Oenological Station (1906; Passeig Sunyer), as well as on some private ones, such as Casa Grau (1910; Sant Joan, 32).
There is evidence that he designed a very large number of buildings, but many of the plans were signed by other architects such as P. Monguió. This is what happened with Casa Carpa (1903; Monterols, 34), on which he used floral Modernista designs, and Casa Laguna (1904; Monterols, 15), both houses located in Reus.
He worked as municipal architect until 1930.
