The Delegation of the Maresme, together with the Iluro Foundation, will organize a stucco workshop at Casa Coll i Regàs de Mataró on Friday, December 14, to inform the technicians about the different types of stucco, materials and techniques.

The Delegation of the Maresme will carry out a "Sgraffito or Hot Stucco Workshop for technicians" at Casa Coll i Regàs in Mataró.
The workshop will be done in collaboration with the Iluro Foundation, the owner of the house, and with Oriol Garcia Alcocer Garcia stucco as the speaker. Oriol was in charge of rehabilitating the facade of Casa Coll i Regàs.

The activity will consist of a first theoretical part, where Oriol will explain the different materials, what are lime, marble and pigments, their compositions and masses, the tools for stucco work; the bases for making different stuccoes, stucco sgraffito and iron stucco; Some history of where they come from and how they were made, how they are treated and how they are preserved ...

The second part will consist of a practical part, where Oriol will make an embossed stucco and stucco in situ, and where technicians will be able to practice how the sgraffito cut each one was made with their own sample that they can take away.

Escape Room: The mystery of the Casa Coll i Regas in Mataró

Motivated to solve the mystery of the Casa Coll i Regas in Mataró, we headed to calle Argentona, 55, where the modernist house designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch is located, a great jewel that the people of Mataró feel very proud of.

In front of the house the guide was waiting for us, who first gave us a series of explanations about the modernist façade and the history of the Coll i Regas family that inhabited it, then we entered the house where we were left speechless. lattices, doors, ceramics, stained glass, ceilings ... that contains the house, but we had not come to this house to make a traditional visit to admire the beauties of modernism, but to solve a mystery.

For this the guide took us to an office on the ground floor where we project a video of Josep Puig i Cadafalch the architect of the house, in which he told us that he hid in his time a very coveted treasure on the ground floor of the house and challenged us to be able to find it within 60 minutes, giving us some rules and advice.

Then we all bloggers to look and scrutinize every corner of the ground floor and also each object, each piece of furniture and each wardrobe. We found some rooms that remained closed with keys. In this way, we found various boxes and objects that had padlocks that were opened with secret codes. Little by little we were deciphering some code that opened a box or object that would lead us to another box or provide us with a clue to follow that did not lead to anything. A very stressful puzzle that without a team of motivated and matched people it is difficult to get to decipher the key of the secret. The guide controlled us the time and we did some other reflection when we asked him to make us review what we had found. This helped us to bring order to our inquiries.

We had very little time to complete the 60 minutes, but suddenly we found a clue that opened a box that contained the final tracks that we needed to complete the puzzle and find the mystery of the Casa Regas. We only had 1 minute and 20 seconds left of the established time, the joy of the group was huge, we had managed to solve it and we had had a great time.

The Casa Coll and Regàs of the Iluro Foundation adheres to the celebration of the European Heritage Days, where visitors from all over Europe enjoy activities to know their heritage in depth.

On Saturday 13 and Sunday, October 14, the visit / workshop for adults with the name of artisanal techniques and new forms of production will be carried out, which will focus on two of the applied arts in the house: stained glass and sgraffiti, as well as the traditional and modern construction systems used by Josep Puig i Cadafalch.

The proposal, aimed at an adult audience, is organized in two parts. First of all, we approach the history of two of the artisan techniques present in the house: stained glass and sgraffiti. We approach these two craft trades through demonstrations using original tools and materials as well as audiovisual media. In the second part of the activity, which takes place on the first floor of the house in the workshop space, some of the designs present at Casa Coll i Regàs will be reproduced. Visitors can familiarize themselves with the new production techniques (3D printing), the concepts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that we are living today and the new materials of the present and future.

Finally, on Saturday 13th from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., an open day is organized where you can see the interior of Casa Coll i Regàs, the work of the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.

The activities are free but prior registration will be required for workshop sessions to ensure optimum operation.
