The "Municipal Advisory Participation Board on Modernisme Strategies in Tarragona" has been recently set up with five main objectives in mind:to promote knowledge of all Modernista heritage in Tarragona, to disseminate Modernisme from the city of Tarragona, to propose the creation of strategies and activities to promote and disseminate the field of Modernisme, to advise the Tarragona City Council, and to collaborate with other cities in matters of Modernisme in general.
The Board consists of the following members: President, Rosa Rossell, who is Deputy Mayor of Heritage, Culture and Education; Vice President, Josep Maria Buqueras, as nominated by the Mayor; Carmen Crespo, Albert Vallvé and Judit Heras, councillors from the PSC, CiU and PP political parties, respectively; Lluís Balart, director of the History Museum; Josep Maria Jujol and Jaume Costa, expert advisors in the field of Modernisme, and Agustí Pujol and Jordi Amenós, in their capacity as representatives of participatory bodies such as the Chamber of Urban Property and the Farmers Guild, respectively.
One of the first tasks of the Board will be to carry out an inventory of all Modernista buildings and elements in the city. Campaigns will also be run in collaboration with council departments such as Education, Citizen Relationships and Civic Centres so that all of Tarragona's inhabitants can learn more about the city's Modernista heritage.
