The Avignon School participates in the Reseau Art Nouveau Network in its capacity as a school specialising in the restoration of heritage buildings. Founded in 1983, it was originally a training centre in which all manner of heritage restoration techniques were taught, including works management, project development and specialised handicraft and industrial techniques related to construction and the applied arts on which they depend.
Although it is still a teaching centre, it has now also become a reference centre for the preservation and rehabilitation of heritage buildings. The Avignon School has contributed greatly to the protection and restoration of Art Nouveau heritage. It has studied the different techniques carried out over the years, in terms of both construction and ornamentation, and has searched for the best solutions for conservation and restoration.
