The creation of the Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation (RLICC) was suggested by Professor Raymond Lemaire and based on an initiative from the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). Its aim is to promote the study and protection of architectural heritage.
It is part of the Engineering Faculty at Leuven Catholic University and comprises two departments in the university: the Department of Architecture, Urban Design and Planning and the Department of Civil Engineering. In terms of teaching, it offers a programme of advanced studies concerning the conservation and restoration of monuments and heritage buildings and also historical interest cities.
