A businessman operating in the exotic wood trade, his cultural concerns led him to participate in reclaiming artistic heritage. He collaborated in the restoration of Ripoll monastery and was a great collector of Coptic textiles.
An admirer of Modernista architecture, he wanted to have a house built in this style in the Eixample district of Barcelona and he commissioned J. Rubió i Bellver to draw up the plans for it. The architect built him a house in 1901, Casa Golferichs (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 491).
