Codina i Matalí, Joaquim

? - Barcelona 1910

1 Master builder

He graduated from the Barcelona Master Builders' School as a qualified master builder in 1864.

His first job was with the architect E. Rogent in 1865 on the University of Barcelona building (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585). Practically all his work is in a historicist style, such as Casa Eduard Filva (1899; Rosselló, 160) and the houses at Carrer del Margenat, 85-89, built in 1899.

In the early part of the 20th century he was responsible for a fully Modernista work, Casa Manuel Malagrida (1905; Passeig de Gràcia, 27), which stands out for the richness of its exterior and its dome, and for the interior finishes in wrought iron.
