Experience the art event of the year in 2015! These two great artists will compete for the first time together in a dual exhibition based on a collaboration between two of the world's leading monographic museums; the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Munch Museum.

The Leopold Museum will present the first comprehensive exhibition in Vienna featuring more than 80 works by the British artist Tracey Emin (born in 1963), a leading figure of the "Young British Artists". Tracey Emin, a superstar and enfant terrible of contemporary art, will engage in a fascinating artistic dialogue, as she will not only present her own works but will also incorporate a personal selection of drawings by Egon Schiele into the exhibition. This exploration of the Austrian Expressionist´s oeuvre allows Tracey Emin to venture into unchartered territory with her art and to draw interesting parallels.

During the boom years in the second half of the nineteenth century, a multitude of mansions and splendid public buildings sprang up around Vienna´s magnificent boulevard, the Ringstrasse. In summer 2015, the Belvedere will be dedicating the exhibition Klimt and the Ringstrasse to those charismatic painters who adorned the Ring´s buildings and shaped the style of their era. Starting with the oeuvre of "painter prince" Hans Makart, it traces developments up to the triumph of the young Gustav Klimt and his painters´ collective, the Künstler-Compagnie. Reconstructions of entire decorative ensembles will present the dazzling lifestyle during the Ringstrasse era to visitors. The exhibition will not only feature sensuous, narrative artworks, but also examples of the young Klimt´s art, which have never been shown to the public before.

The topic of metamorphosis is directly related to his work, without model or witness, in the privacy of the studio. Fragile plasters as well as bronzes, marble figures, drawings, watercolours and photographs all attest to this creative intensity.
